Cheese!
I want a turn on the Wii Fit!
Talias talking it up
Tali is speaking with new “words” every day now – although we are the only ones that can understand what she is saying, she is getting there!
The list is growing:
Mumma, Dadda, Sista, Bubba, no, floor, shower, more, there, Jacq, Naa, Poppo (thats for Poppy), Pas (thats for Paps), Papa (Grandpa) Mama (Grandma).
Ello Gretal!
Gretal is Talias new name. Naa bought her this cutest little shorts and shirt outfit with a matching hat and she looks so cute in it that we had to re name her Gretal to match the clothes. The hat needed an iron, but we were running late, so it didnt happen… and plus I dont iron… She also loves to pull a “Gretal” face – which I am yet to catch on camera.
Surprisingly, she wore the hat the whole time and didnt try and take it off!
She also liked to lift the top up to show everyone her belly button…
little sister
Talias first meeting with Alice didnt really mean to much to her – she just wanted me to put her back into the hospital bed and let her sit and watch play school in peace. The last few days however, Talis interest in her little sister has increased somewhat.
Yesterday was the first day that she showed a wanting to hold Alice on the couch – which she did with a massive big grin and lots of grunts and groans of joy.
Today, she came in with me to get Alice out of bed, and then ran off into the lounge room where she patted the couch as to where she wanted us to sit. We are pretty sure that she is saying some form of her name “alische” – well thats what it sounds like anyway!
Talia walking and talking, kind of…
2 new favourite games
Maisie learnt these 2 games at Sunday School on the weekend (yeah, not much to do with Jesus, I know). As you can see, we are not too strict on the ‘official’ rules.
Duck, Duck, Goose!
What’s the time Mr Wolf?
And here’s something just to embarress Talia when she’s older – believe it or not, this is how she ‘smiles’.
Talia walking!
She’s been taking her time but Talia, aged 15mths, has finally made some real progress towards properly walking (and not just taking 4 steps and falling into our arms).
All the walking ‘practice’ we have subjected her to is finally paying off.
THIS IS A GIRL PEOPLE
I took the girls down the street today to get a couple of things done. We left the house at 9:00am and we got back to the house at 10:45am. In the time that we were away – 3 (YES THREE) people said something to or about Tali being a boy.
Now, I know this photo isnt the best photo of her, but it clearly shows the top that she was wearing today and please let me state that I will never dress any son of mine in this same sort of floral pink lacey top.
If you are going to comment on someones child – make sure you either know what you are talking about or dont say anything at all. JUST BECAUSE SHE HAS NO HAIR DOES NOT MAKE HER A BOY!!!!
animal like
Tali is just starting to learn animal noises and actions, and is very keen to impress us. Just this week she has picked up monkey, fish and rabbit much to our delight. Its so funny to watch her watch Maisie and just take it all in and then show it off a little while later. She is also very pleased with herself and spent some time tonight showing off her new skills when she was meant to be in bed…
Blinky Bills
At almost 13 months, Talia is now getting to the age where she is actually becoming a little person. By that I mean, she is starting to respond to verbal instructions, such as ‘show me your blinking’…
Maisie however, at 26 months, is at the stage where all she wants to do is copy everything her younger sister does.
tooth it up
TB is cutting more and more teeth – and her grin is becoming a very toothy one indeed. She has four up the top and four down the bottom and looks like she is getting at least 3 more at the moment. Her cheeks are very red hot and she is very snotty but other than that she is going great!
I’M ONE!!
I'M ONE!!
The Big Girls Room
We moved Tali into Moos room yesterday for a number of reasons, one being that it worked really well when we were away (until they got sick) so we thought we might try it at home. This also gives us room in the “spare room” to be able to have our double bed up and running for any visitors that may drop by for an over night stay, not to mention a room for #3 to live in at some stage.
Moo was confused, because at first she thought that it meant Tali sleeping in her “big girls bed” with her – but once I showed her where Tali would sleep, she was very exicted and called it “the big girls room”…
Bath Time Fun
on the move
TB crawled for the first time over the weekend whilst we were staying at Mum & Dads house. It was so fun to watch her try and figure it all out over the past couple of weeks, and then – success!! She has been busy this week trying to figure out which door leads to where in our house. She is crawling up on her hands and knees, which is different to the way Mooey crawled – again showing us how different two little people can be!
Here are some photos from our Anzac Day long weekend:
TB after she had crawled
Sisters having a morning cuddle
Moo learning to pose for the camera
wrap no more
Tali went to bed last night without being wrapped for the first time ever. She slept well until 5am when she rolled over and cried out to me to come and roll her back and tuck her back in. Pretty good effort I say.
