quick catch up…

Maisie is 8 now – and has been for almost half a year. She loves to read and LOVES school, ballet and dancing and singing and swimming. Her teachers tell me what a beautiful loving friend she is which makes us super proud. She has loved year 2 and is excited about year 3.

Tally turned 7 in July and as I type this is in the pool swimming laps of backstroke and freestyle trying to improve her strokes! She also loves school and is very athletic and still loves her sleep! She is at the top of her reading levels for year 1 and is busy trying to guess what teacher she will have in year 2! When I asked her 3 things that she loves she said “Mumma, Daddy and the hammock”…

Alice is about to turn 6 and finish her first year of Kinder. We have had a busy year with Alice and working out how to control the beast inside her, and with the help of Dr Jo and cutting out numbers and colours from our diet there has been a massive change in her behaviour. She just told me that she loves swimming in the pool, bouncing her ball and rocking in the hammock (she likes to know what Im doing at all times…)

Pippa (or pippy, stinkerbell, tootsmcfruits) is “finally 4” as she likes to tell people this week. She is a clumso – always hurting herself somehow. She tries very hard to keep up with her big sisters. She loves “tiny little babies” which is good because we have a few around us at the moment! She goes to pre school on a friday morning and has lots of friends – that are all boys!

Pippaisms

This 4th child of ours has us constantly in tears of laughter.

One of the funniest things that she still does is “how much do you love your…” and she will    huggle the thing you have asked about – whether it is a jumper, sausage, toy, drink, body part… hours of laughs.

This is just a sample of some things she has said this year.

Pippa: I don’t want to turn 4, I want to stay 3 so that I can huggle you in your arms and you can rock me to sleep.

Pippa talking to Naa on the phone: I have been emailing Aunty May. She is my Aunty.

Pippa talking to Great Grandma Mary on the phone: Im waiting for Cade to get home, thats my Mums Husband.

Pippa: Throw it in the dumper – cause thats where we dump everything. (She was talking about the hair tie box in the bathroom)

L: Thats fantastic Mr Fox.

P: Im not a fox and Im NOT A BOY.

Pippa has a splinter in her foot, Lisa is trying to get it out:

L: Stay still I can’t get it out if you keep moving.

P: YOU ARE SUCH A LOSER.

Pippa turns 3

Our baby girl is 3 now! She had a wonderful birthday on Sunday – complete with a party with all her friends in the afternoon.
She has cut up her happy dummy now that she is a big girl and can’t wait to go to pre school next year.

She is such a joy – full of questions and comments on life, singing songs all day, playing games of mums and sisters and loves to socialise with her friends. She even had her first hair trim this week!

Pippa @ 2.8

IMG_1451

Pippy has well and truly entered the “terrible twos”. Such a horrible name – but so true! Tantys galore over here at the moment. She is such a beautiful child – but when shes had enough – shes had enough. Her favourite games are little people and playing mums and babies with her big sisters. She has enjoyed school holidays the most out of everyone – cause she has so many people to play with.

She loves to help around the house – she takes her dirty clothes basket from her room to the laundry and empties it out into the washing machine. She is still having a lunch time sleep and she loves going to creche whilst I play basketball on a Thursday morning – she calls the ladies “my teachers”. She runs over to the school to pick up her sisters and is excited that she gets to have a party this year for her birthday.

Pippy turns 2!!

Pippa had a birthday on the weekend – she turned 2! We had a fun day opening presents (which she can say very well) and then eating her “lolly take” – which she has been talking about for months.

She got them out in one go!

yay, I did it!
” YAY I did it” is what she loves to say after doing something!

Two is such a fun age – the conversations that we have are so funny. She cracks us up every day with the funny things she does and says. She called Cade a stinky butt the other day – for no reason… She loves Peppa Pig, the Wiggles and Dor Dor (Dora). She gets upset over the littlest things and says “it hurts me”. “ohhh Mannnn” is what she comes out with all the time (thanks Dora) and she has the most beautiful manners that I have ever heard from a 2 year old – if you ask her something and she doesnt want to do it “no thank you”. She seems like such a big girl but she is still our baby!

Pippy @ 1.4

Pippa will soon be 16 months old! Its such a wonderful age – they learn new things everyday, amaze you with new words and actions and of course copy everything their older siblings do!
Pippa swim time
We have been blessed with yet another beautiful girl – Pippy is such a delight to spend each day with. She is into everything – one of her “games” is see how many times she can press the dishwasher button before we get in the kitchen to get her away from it. She presses and laughs and runs! She loves to be outside, in the dirt, in the rocks, in the water, in the sand – drawing with chalk is always something she wants to do now! Her sisters love giving her rides around the yard and swinging her in the swings.
Pippa bike ride
Her sisters are the most important people in her little life! Lots of games are played every day involving Pips – Alice and her have started role playing very nicely together – Pippy will grab a bag and a baby and join in on the Mums and Babys game that Alice loves to play. Her other great game that she loves is Snatch and Run – she will grab something of her sisters, show them that she has it and then run as fast as she can away from them whilst they chase her – screaming at her – whilst she just laughs at them… She never gets very far, but enjoys the chase.
Pippa bed time
Talking is another thing that she loves to do – and its always amazing to watch as they start to really communicate with you. Pointing and trying new words out, lots of animal sounds and dancing to songs. As soon as music comes on, she runs over to pick up a doll and start dancing with it – usually with Elmo, who is almost bigger than her… Provides plenty of laughs for us all.
Pippa Dinner
Still no hair – although a little mullet is forming at the back of her head! Her big blue eyes are always watching everything that is going on – she doesnt miss much!

Pippa Elise @5.2 months

Pippy is growing up so fast!

Pippa Elise 5.2 months

In the last 3 weeks she has rolled front back to front and back, grown 2 bottom teeth, had her first arrowroot biscuit, eaten weetbix with apple and pear, drunk water from a cup – its seems like everything has just all of a sudden clicked and its not slowing down now!

What a wonderful little girl she is – so beautiful! Loves to sleep – which makes her even more wonderful! Loves her big sisters, but always enjoys time on her own as well (with no one squashing her into the ground). Bath time with her sisters is the best time – she grins and laughs the whole time she is in with them.

The big girls just delight in everything that she does, esp her biggest sister!

Maisie and Pippa

Pippa @ 3.1 months

Pippa Elise (or Pip, Pipsticks, Pips, Pippy longstockings, Pippy, Pipsta, or whatever other name come out at the time) is now 3 months old – time really does fly when you are having fun!

She is such a great little girl – who is constantly surrounded by her 3 older sisters! We picked Maisie up from pre school the other day – she walked straight past me and straight onto Pippa in the pram to tell her how much she had missed her that day…
The gang

She is doing all the things that babys do, a typical day is feeds at 5ish, 8ish, 11ish, 2ish, 6ish and then I wake her at 10 for the last one. She is having more and more up time which is nice. She seems to wake just in time for bath time with her sisters every night – which is her favorite time of the day – she squeals and kicks and laughs the whole time she is in. She is a big fat boomba who sleeps on her belly and is just the most beautiful little girl – I am really in love with her! I have to say that these last few months have drifted by quite quickly and peacefully and my little newborn babe is no longer a newborn!

whats its name again?

is the question that has been asked the most around here over the past week. Pippa is now a week old and Maisie and Tally seem to have had the hardest time remembering her name. Alice has had no problem at all – in fact the older two often ask “Alice- whats the new babys name again?” with Alice to reply “Pippa” in a voice that sounds like she is annoyed at the question – like hello, im not even two yet and I can remember the babys name, what is wrong with you guys…

stop. baby time.

No, not as yet. But we are getting very close. Its about this time in the pregnancy that you look back at the last nine months and wonder how it has gone so quickly. This has been by far the quickest, and we have done all the normal things we do when having a baby like purchase and move house, so nothing abnormal there…

The girls are excited, Tally enjoys just sitting with me and talking to the baby, giving my belly a rub. She likes to tell me all the things she is going to help with like bathing and rocking and putting the cream on. This conversation usually ends up in a fight with Maisie stating that SHE will be doing the cream and then Alice saying “NO – ME TURN”. Things are about to get interesting…

Im not “over” being pregnant as yet – although I am pretty close to it. We have a name (finally) and I can let you know that it wont be “I Dont Know Stinky Butt Whitbourn” as the girls had picked out for us. Bedroom is ready to go, the clothes are in the cupboard and the bags are packed for the hospital (after a midnight trip last week), so anytime after Monday this baby can make its way into the world.

The weird thing is becoming a family of 6! 5 just seemed normal, and this is the biggest age gap we have had with any of the girls, so things are about to get a little crazy – but I spose thats just the way it goes.

This baby will be Grandbaby #14 on the Whitbourn Family Tree and Grandbaby #4 on the Shanahan/Stevens Family Tree. Maybe it will be born on November 4…
