Yesterday was Maisies first day of child care. I dropped her off at 8:30am with her “school bag” and went off to my first day in the office without her. It was very strange not having to worry about if she was awake or asleep or tired or hungry for the first time in four months. It wasnt a whole day without her – I went into the centre for her morning feed, but I was only there for about 10 minutes. She was very alert and just wanted to talk it up whilst I was there. She didnt seem to interested in eating, she kept looking around at what everyone else was up to.
She didnt get much sleeping done there, so she was so tired when she got home yesterday afternoon, she almost fell asleep in the bath. I was trying to get her to stay awake until Cade got home from work, but she was fast asleep at 6:15pm. It will be interesting to see if she is that tired every Monday or whether she will adjust to having her day sleeps there with the other kids.
I have found in the last few weeks that people (just stranger type people that are walking past) stop and say “oh, I dont remember my kids being that small, watch out they grow up so fast”. Annoying as this is – it is also very true. I held a newborn baby in my arms last week, and the first thing I thought was – I dont remember Maisie being this small…
